Diary Of A Domestic Goddess

I never liked the term housewife. I was never fond of homemaker either. Now Domestic Goddess that I can live with.

My house was clean last week, sorry you missed it.

Sorry darling, I've resigned as general manager of the universe.

Nothing gets me in the mood like a man doing dishes.

My next house won't have a kitchen, only vending machines.

My menu consisted of two choices: Take it or leave it.

Dinner is ready when the smoke alarm goes off.

I treat my husband like a God. Burnt offerings daily.

Married life is like the pleasure of a warm bath. After awhile it's not so hot.

With my husband I often slip into something more comfortable, like denial.

Darling, it's perfect! Did you keep the receipt?

How can they expect me to cook and clean after a long day of shopping?

Everybody should believe in something. I believe I'll have another cup of coffee.

Housework is something you do that nobody notices until you don't do it.

It's amazing how the world begins to change through the eyes of a cup of coffee.

I like hugs and I like kisses but what I really love is help with the dishes.

If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done.

Love is one long sweet dream and marriage is the alarm clock.

Behind every successful women is a substantial amount of coffee.

Some people like my advice so much that they frame it upon the wall instead of using it.

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.

Accept Your inner Goddess

Today, you will accept yourself just the way you are, without judgement. You will accept your mind the way it is, with all your emotions, your hopes and dreams, your personality, your unique way of being. You will accept your body just the way it is, with all it's beauty and perfection. Let the love you have for yourself be so strong that you never again reject yourself or sabotage your happiness, freedom and love.

From now on, you will let every action, every reaction, every thought, every emotion, be based on love. You will increase your inner Goddess until the entire dream of your life is transformed, from fear and drama to love and joy. Let the power of your inner Goddess be strong enough to break all the lies you were programmed to believe, all the lies that tell you you're not good enough, or strong enough, or intelligent enough, that you cannot make it. Let the power of your inner Goddess be so strong that you no longer need to live your life according to others. Trust yourself completely to make the choices you must make for yourself. With your inner Goddess, you will no longer be afraid to face any responsibility in your life or face any problems and resolve them as they arise.

Starting today, you will live your life being yourself and not pretending to be someone else just to be accepted by others. You no longer need others to accept you or tell you how good you are because you know what you are. You will feel such intense self-love that you will always enjoy your own presence. With this new power in your heart, the power of your inner Goddess, you will transform every relationship you have, beginning with the relationship you have with yourself.

Today is a new beginning.

Daily Affirmations

Here's a few daily affirmations any true Goddess must say to herself on a daily basis and never forget who she really is. The best way to use these affirmations is through repetition. The more often you say them, the more they will impact your reality and reaffirm to the core of your being that these statements are true.

"I'm a wonderful person, and I'm doing a fabulous job."

"The fact that I was born means that I matter."

"No one can make me feel inferior without my consent."

"I will mean what I say and say what I mean."

"When I believe in myself so do others."

"I am no longer afraid of storms, for I'm learning to sail my ship."

"As I think a thought, energy is put in motion to create my new reality."

"I recognize the goodness in other people."

"My presence makes a difference in the world. I joyously take on the challenge of exploring my passions and pursuing my goals so that the world can benefit from my existence."

Ways To Save On Our Groceries

Here's 10 ways you can reduce your grocery bill.
  1. Price match. No need to go to multiple stores to buy your groceries. As long as it's the same brand, weight and product. Most stores will price match write at the cash.
  2. Stop paying for brand names. Bet you didn't know most generic brands are actually your brand name product packed in a generic name container. Which you pay less for.
  3. Use your points rewards towards free groceries. For instance PC points or Airmiles points give you the opportunity to purchase free groceries.
  4. Discount chains can save you bundles. Why pay more for a higher end grocery store when you can get the same items cheaper at a discount store.
  5. Double check your receipt. Scanning errors occur more then you think. Some stores will give you the item for free if it doesn't come out at the sale price and if it's over 10$ you'll get 10$ off your entire purchase.
  6. Grow your own garden. You'll surely save on vegetables and fruits.
  7. Make a list. Check what you already have in your pantry to make sure you don't double stock on certain items.
  8. Eat before you shop. You'll be more likely to avoid picking junk food and have a lighter bill to pay. So you won't just be saving on money, but you may drop a few pounds while your at it.
  9. Clip coupons. Who doesn't enjoy saving a buck or two.
  10. Buy in bulk. Instead of buying the one pack Kleenex box buy the 6 pack it will be cheaper per unit. This works best with non perishable items. Unless you have a big family or throwing a party where you can go for the club pack or family size chicken. But beware bulk is not always cheaper check the unit price it's usually well labeled under each product. Or just take out your phone and use the calculator.

Goddesses Also Need To Save

Here's 10 ridiculously easy ways to help you save money

1. Don't buy books, go to the library and borrow them. First and foremost the kids love it! Second of all you can read to your hearts content.

2. Don't buy coffee. Make your own and take it to go. Don't like coffee then bottle your own water like that you won't  have to buy a bottle when your out.

3. Don't buy something just because it's on sale. Ask your self if you really need it. Not if you can't live without it.

4. Buy in bulk whenever possible.

5. Do price matching. Just bring in your fryers and most grocery stores and department stores will match the sale price. Not only you save on your item, you also save on gas.

6. Cancel any subscriptions you don't use. Like magazines, gym, TV.

7. Turn on your dishwasher, washing machine and dryer after 7pm or on the weekends. You pay less after peak hours.

8. Don't shop for your groceries when your hungry. You are more likely to buy more then what you need.

10. Redeem your points for free movies or groceries.

From One Domestic Goddess To Another

Today's Domestic Goddess is not like ever before. We base our lives on reality TV Shows and this new expectation of women. Therefore we stress more. It's not easy to decide whether you will stay at home with the kids or leave them behind and go back to work. Either way we are basing ourselves on something that is not reality. In the olden days they did not have this much social tension on the ideal motherhood standards. It was simpler then and all women where more content then we ever will. Cause they based themselves on real reality. I say real reality because reality shows are tweaked they only show you what they want, there is no reality there. It's all fake. Feel better now, I hope you do. Take some of that stress out and live your life the way a women should.

We have different pressures and we have more roles. Some may work from home and juggle watching the kids. We all still have to clean, cook, drive the kids to their different activities, help with last minute homework and the list goes on and on. We pressurize ourselves to be the perfect wife and mother basing ourselves on reality Tv shows and famous food stars.  Let me tell you they are all fake and they have a whole crew behind them. We think we are not good enough because we try to have everything under control. Your crew is your husband and kids and they are not always there to tweak your living room and add that extra touch to your dining room table. Yes we have our short cuts but how healthy is that for us and our families. As you may find yourself as general manager of the universe. There are ways to make it fun and staying on the right track.

Why is staying at home treated as a misfortune and domesticity a punishment? Money paid for goods and services adds to the economy but do raising children and supporting one’s own family have no value because money is not involved? Something to think about.

Money we don't always think of

Everything from points earned, receipts, store credits is money in your pocket.

  • You know those Canadian tire money your hubby has saved up. Why don't you use them on household items. Think of it, it's free!
  • Airmiles points can get you free groceries at a Metro grocery store. All you need to do is redeem them.
  • HBC points can get you a free movie with a popcorn and drink. How cool is that!
  • If you collect PC points you also collect free groceries. Just make sure you don't earn them with credit cards cause the interest rate will harm you more then you'll benefit with those free groceries.
  • Keep your receipts, you never know when you'll want to return an item you didn't even know you didn't need. That's money back in your pocket. They even have price adjustments if it goes on sale. Just check the store policy.
  • Don't lose your credit note or gift card. Make sure to check the expiration dates on them to use them. To benefit the most out of them purchase items on sale to get more out of the value of the card. You'll be a happy camper with multiple purchases for the price of one.
  • Don't misplace your lottery ticket. You never know you could be a millionaire.

Look at you all rich and didn't even know it!
