Today's Homemade Remedies

Back to basics!
Whether it is daytime talk shows, best selling authors or just plain common sense. People are more and more into the natural remedies and way of life.  Here we are talking about the day to day symptoms that can be soothed or cured with what mother nature has to offer.

My top 5 that I use daily in my house and in my everyday cooking are:
Turmeric
Ginger
Garlic
Onions
Flax Seed

For congestion eucalyptus oil works wonders. Just boil some water then add  a couple of drops of the eucalyptus oil. Place your head over the bowl and cover your head with a towel. Inhale the steam a few times and voila you will be breathing again. For that nasty cough just suck on a piece of clove and rub tiger balm or vicks on your chest and back for night relief.

For back pain, joint pain and arthritis turmeric works wonders. I use it daily in my tea. I make a herbal tea using Turmericclovestar anisecinnamonfennel seeds. Let them boil then add black tea and milk. Sugar to taste. It's my daily picker upper I substitute this for my coffee.

Brain boosters for you and your kids. Start the day with oatmeal or eggs. If no one in the family has nut allergies, walnuts and almonds are great memory boosters. Don't forget to eat your salmon. A few cups of green tea for the adults not only boost your memory but also great for your immune system and your metabolism.

Great antioxidants foods are green teaberries such as blueberries and acai berry, pomegranate, kale, pinto beans just to name a few. Living in a place where we get  harsh winters we usually buy juices for the kids to meet their daily nutritional needs. In summer we opt for locally grown fruits and vegetables.

Here's some books and products that I highly recommend.
